In fact, this natural beauty is actually made up of 4 spring-fed lakes (simply known as Lakes 1, 2, 3, and 4) with no inlet or outlet, connected by small navigable channels. Several islands and coves throughout make Pine Lake an ideal spot for fishing and boating.
Dotted with beautiful bays throughout, Pine Lake is home to many year-round residences and cottage retreats. Nearby Plainwell offers many modern conveniences, while the tight-knit Pine Lake community offers a full calendar of events, from annual lake-wide garage sales to firework displays, boat parades, and even (believe it or not) turtle races!
Pine Lake residents can enjoy their waterfront retreats through all 4 seasons, from wildlife watching and boating in the spring and summer months to color tours and ice fishing in the fall and winter. They can also retreat to the beautiful Pine Lake Recreation Area — an 18-acre park with volleyball, tennis, and basketball courts as well as play equipment, a ball field, and a covered picnic pavilion.
Just 20 miles southeast of Pine Lake, you’ll find Fort Custer Recreation Area — complete with 25 miles of well-maintained trails for mountain biking, hiking, cross-country skiing, dog sledding, and horseback riding. Another treat for Pine Lake residents during the winter months are its two nearby ski areas — Timber Ridge and Bittersweet Ski Area — both within a short 20-mile drive of Pine Lake.
