Why we love Magician Lake:

This 498-acre all sports, spring-fed lake is nothing short of its name — magic.  Lying mostly in northern Cass County, about 6 miles northwest of Dowagiac, this glacier-formed natural lake is part of Sister Lakes, which also includes nearby Round Lake, Crooked Lake, and Dewey Lake.  Magician Lake’s clear waters (with visibility up to 10 feet) and sandy bottom create the magical allure that lends this lake its name.

The largest of several lakes located along the Cass & Van Buren County lines, Magician Lake is a favorite getaway for many Illinois and Indiana residents, because of its close proximity to Chicago and easy access from I-94.  Many year-round residents call this beautiful lake home, and the shoreline is dotted with many newer-construction, larger homes, while some older cottages and rental properties still remain.

On Magician Lake, avid anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish, including Black Crappie, Brown Trout, Channel Catfish, Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Steelhead, Walleye, and Yellow Perch.
