Why we love White Lake:
Whether you live or vacation at White Lake, you’ll love all that this Muskegon County masterpiece has to offer. Located at the mouth of the White River, adjacent to the towns of Whitehall and Montague, White Lake is connected to Lake Michigan by a navigation channel, and has an average depth of 23 feet and maximum depth of 71 feet.
Avid sailors will love the active sailing community of this massive 2,571-acre lake, home to the White Lake Yacht Club. From the deck of your waterfront oasis, you’ll be able to watch sailboat races every Saturday and Sunday through the summer. You’ll also enjoy a variety of commercial access points across the lake, including public boat launching via the Lake’s municipal ramp.
In White Lake, the fun never stops at the waterfront! That’s because White Lake’s nearby communities of Whitehall and Montague have so much more to offer on top of the White Lake’s miles of sandy beaches — including nearly 40 miles of bike trails, history and maritime museums, summer concerts at the Montague Band Shell, and 175 miles of groomed snowmobiling trails in the winter months. After a long day of waterfront fun, you can also head to the community’s nearby farmers markets and artisan markets to pick up some fresh, local produce and handcrafted goods.
