Why we love Lake Macatawa:
This massive 1,780-acre Ottawa County lake occupies portions of Park Township, Holland Township, and the City of Holland. About 6 miles long and 1.2 miles wide, this shallow lake is generally less than 10 feet deep (with the exception of a navigation channel that stretches across Lake Macatawa to allow deep ships dock access in the City of Holland) and has a maximum depth of 36 feet.
Discharging into Lake Michigan near Holland State Park, Lake Macatawa contains two large bays — Big Bay and Pink Creek Bay. While the Lake’s east end is industrially developed, the remainder of the lakeshore is marked by high-income residential developments and the beautiful Holland State Park, bordering the northern shoreline of the Lake’s west end.
Whether you’re fishing from the shore or the pier, you’ll enjoy Lake Macatawa’s family-friendly fishing waters, filled with Catfish, Crappie, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Sunfish, Walleye, White Bass, and Yellow Perch.
