Why we love Hutchins Lake:
Welcome to all-sports Hutchins Lake. Some may call it small, but we like to think of it as small and mighty! That’s because this beautiful little 376-acre gem is known for its many drop-offs that hold fish, especially Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, and Yellow Perch. With a maximum depth of just 34 feet, it’s also known for its extensive shallow areas, particularly on the Lake’s east side.
Hutchins Lake residents also enjoy the charm of nearby Fennville (just 2 miles away), with local favorites like Fenn Valley Vineyards & Wine Cellar and Salt of the Earth, a rustic American eatery & bakery. In fact, Fenn Valley Vineyards even credits the great taste of their wines to the characteristic grapes produced by Pure Michigan’s lake effect! On site, visitors can enjoy an educational wine tour, a small plate sampling on one of several gorgeous outdoor patios, and even a stroll through the actual production vineyards.
